Company to Come Up With 112 Jobs in Fort Mill

The Schaeffler Group of USA plans to augment its two plants at York County and headquarters at Fort Mill, resulting in the creation of 112 extra jobs. This group will also form 328 additional jobs by extending plants in Spartanburg and Chesterfield counties. According to the state commerce department, overall, the company stated that it will invest 163.8 million dollars for expansion in South Carolina.

This company engages in making precision products for aviation, aerospace and automotive industries. York County is slated to receive almost 40% of the investment, which amounts to 68 million dollars. Most of the new jobs at this county will be created at the company’s two plants, situated at 308 Springhill Farm Road. As per a news release from Gov. Nikki Haley’s office, these plants would manufacture several automotive components, bearings and bearing components.

Out of the new York County jobs, 17 are grouped as professional, 53 as laborers, 39 as operators and 3 as craftsman.  The Council at the York County is working towards a fee agreement that would lower the company’s property taxes. As such, these fee agreements reduce the taxes by 43% over a period of 30 years.

On the other hand, the Fort Mill headquarters is in charge of sales, engineering and marketing of the company’s three brands, namely FAG, LuK and INA. Schaeffler, which is located in Germany’s Herzogenaurach employs 80,000 individuals in 49 nations. Schaeffler is anticipated to discuss about its expansions in South Carolina, particularly in York County. The expansions are wonted to be over by the end of 2016
