Australian Job Advertisements See an Increase for the Eighth Month

Feb 09,2015

With the rise in the job advertisements in Australia on the internet as well as the newspapers for the eighth month in January, the demand for labor seems to have risen since the last two years.

The survey which was taken by Australia and New Zealand Banking Group depicted a total of 142,398 job advertisements weekly on an average in January, which was a 1.3 percent increase. These advertisements showed a yearly growth rate to 13.6 percent which was the quickest in two-and-a-half-years.

Out of the advertisements posted, ads on the internet accounted to a 1.5 percent increase. ANZ chief economist Warren Hogan said that for the eighth consecutive month, ANZ jobs showed an increase which was an encouraging sign that new labor demand is improving continuously in certain sections of the economy of Australia.

With the official employment figures for the month of January slated to be in on Thursday, there are predictions of a slight rise of numbers from 5,000 which is due to the two months of unexpected robust gains in employment.
