Applicants for Provincial Nominee Program notified about processing delays, by New Brunswick

Jan 21,2017

The NBPNP or ‘New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program’ is undergoing delays with the processing of applications. These delays were caused due to a "significant number of applications," explained the province on its website.

The update appended that the program perseveres "to prioritize applications from individuals who are working in New Brunswick or have a local job offer." Candidates, whose applications are currently under progress, are advised NOT to contact the province with regard to their application status. Inquiries like that would not be responded to and will only extend delays, explains the province. Lastly, the update affirmed that all applicants will be communicated with, by the NBPNP, once a decision has been taken regarding their application, while no specific time frame was mentioned for the correspondence.

The NBPNP also incorporates the Express Entry Labour Market Stream (EELMS), the Skilled Worker with Employer Support Stream, the Skilled Worker with Family Support Stream, and the Business Applicants Stream (currently paused). Processing delays seem to appear in all of these streams. Individuals, who are eligible within the Express Entry pool, can submit an EOI (Expression of Interest) under the EELMS, if in case they are also eligible for this stream as well. Successful candidates within this stream will be provided with an upgraded certificate for provincial nomination and accordingly an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for PR (permanent residency), in the upcoming draw from the Express Entry pool.

The remaining 3 categories function independently out of the Express Entry selection system. The ‘Skilled Worker with Family Support’ Stream aims at people who have worked in New Brunswick and have close family ties to the province via a relative. Eligible candidates, with a permanent & full-time employment offer from a New Brunswick employer, can register for permanent resident status through the Skilled Worker with Employer Support Stream. The Business Applicants Stream, which is presently not accepting any applications, furnished a way for PR status for eligible persons who intend to start and manage a business in New Brunswick.
