Software Engineering Developer – TELEMATICS Group

The Software Engineering Developer will be responsible with defining, designing, and implementation of remote monitoring product, working with our clients and internal development teams for the M2M and IoT (Internet of Things) markets.

This position requires a blend of creativity and technical expertise with the ability to look at problems from unique angles to find create solutions. You will be exposed to various industrial challenges with a focus on developing products that make a meaningful impact with our customers. The software that is developed is applied on our telematics products and installed on industrial equipment which is then shipped world-wide to provide connectivity to the equipment. These products use the latest wireless technology to push data to our back-office servers. 


Design and implementation of embedded stack using C, C++
Design, creation and implementation of defined protocols
Problem solving and bug fixing product issues
Work with development/technical services/solution management teams
Participate in maintenance, upgrading, and optimization of existing telematics solutions
Assist in designing and building intelligent tools for automation purposes
Suggest improvements in tools and techniques to help scale the team



Computer Programmer, Computer Science degree or diploma
A minimum of 2 years of software programming experience with knowledge about:
State Machine Programming
Object Oriented Programming
Debugging Concepts, Cross Compiling
Design Patterns
Main stream development tools (ex. Eclipse, SVN)
Experience with serial communications, wired & wireless technologies, networking and embedded computing would be beneficial
Experience with main stream Linux Operating Systems (ex. Gentoo, Ubuntu, Fedora)
Strong communication skills including ability to explain concepts to both technical and non-technical people
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Exceptionally self-motivated, directed and detail-oriented
Occasional travel required, primarily US.
