Autodesk is recruiting! We're looking for a talented Software Development professional to join our Maya team.

This is an opportunity to be part of the team that develops Maya - the most powerful modeling, animation, and rendering software package. By joining the Maya team you will become an active contributor to the growing success of this industry-leading digital content creation package.

As part of the animation team, you will be implementing key workflows and algorithms to ease the task of creating and bringing game, film, and TV characters to life. Our team works on a huge variety of problems from creating new tools and workflows, streamlining user interactions, to digging deep into low-level scene evaluation details and technologies.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a solid foundation in computer graphics and programming, and a desire to roll up your sleeves and get stuff done no matter the challenge. This is your chance to work with a highly experienced engineering team and some of the biggest entertainment customers in the industry, helping to define and implement the future of animation in Maya.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Develop high quality, stable code
Implement compelling rigging and animation workflows and algorithms
Propose, take ownership, and develop key new features


Deep understanding of computer graphics algorithms and implementations
Strong C development and object-oriented design skills
Great communication skills and proven ability to work as part of a team
5 years of general programming experience
Understanding of spoken and written English


Working knowledge of game or film character pipelines and workflows
General knowledge of a 3D modeling, animation and rendering applications
Industry experience in either high-end film or game industry
Experience with Qt
Experience with GL / DX, including writing shaders
Experience using the Maya SDK to write custom tools/plug-ins
Experience profiling and tuning performance
Experience using multi-threading and GPGPU techniques
Strong Python, MEL or the Maya API
Cross-platform development experience (Windows, Linux, OS X)
Familiarity with the Agile development methodology
