Senior Systems/Software Engineer 


Act as team leader for establishing and executing the software support concept of a highly integrated suite of avionics mission software.
Participate in the leadership and management of systems/software engineering activities.
Provides technical co-ordination and oversight of work being performed by subcontractors.
Leads the development of plans and activities to integrate software components and deliver them to the aircraft fleet.
Oversees the management of the Software Trouble Report database and established build priorities with other stakeholders.
Introduce industry best practices for complex software systems across multiple OEMs.
Produce plans, schedules and other planning documentation in support of systems/software engineering programs.
Optimize the transition of systems/software engineering programs from proposal to implementation.
Interface with customer to provide optimum systems supportability solutions.
Provide briefings to management and customers on progress and issues
Provide support to systems/software engineering program proposal activities

Qualifications


Experience in Systems and Software Engineering in the military Aerospace industry with particular understanding of complex integrated electronic/avionics systems and software for airborne application.
Highly experienced in the management of software/network applications development.
Experienced in the integration of software products developed by multiple sources.
Knowledge of aviation regulatory equipment and software requirements (commercial and/or military) including Canadian military worthiness.
Experienced in requirement definition, verification traceability and resolution of software trouble reports.
Familiar with techniques for establishing and tracking software development progress in both traditional waterfall and agile development environments.
Has managed complex out-sourcing of software deliverables.
Highly motivated with clear leadership skills and customer focus, able to operate in a team environment encompassing numerous stakeholders.
Must be able to obtain a Canadian Industrial Security Clearance to SECRET level within one year.
Must be eligible for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Controlled Goods Regulations Program (CGRP) government clearances.
