We have a series of new strategic initiatives in the Microsoft OneNote Online Team focused on creating experiences for students, teachers, administrators and parents. The OneNote Online Team is located in Vancouver BC and are working on a variety of great applications and services that our customers love. From OneNote ClassNotebooks, Learning Tools in OneNote, OneNote.com (http://onenote.com/); and OneNote Online Application in Office 365 suite - we work closely with Microsoft Research and product engineering teams to turn great ideas into great products. We are looking for highly motivated engineers with sharp technical skills around a variety of technologies spanning rich apps, web apps and web services. T

he ideal candidate is someone who is looking to take up new challenges and ready to learn new technologies and approaches. We are a very dynamic team with broad roles that will expose you to many areas of engineering from design and architecture to coding, testing, deployment and operations as well as provide opportunity to interact with customers directly. You will work with incredibly smart and motivated people that are passionate about education and Web Technologies. You will also have access to the broad resources of Microsoft including industry-leading research, cutting-edge technologies like Cortana, Search, and Next generation of Office 365, Windows, Exchange, Azure Active Directory and frequent and direct interaction with senior executives. If you are a super-smart, creative and collaborative developer who is passionate about education and Web Technologies, then this is the team for you. You will have the opportunity to see the whole picture and build the experience end-to-end. You will need to be technically deep and collaborative; contributing to hands-on coding, design, test and architecture to deliver the solution as a whole. 

 

Qualifications: 


- 5+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and shipping high quality software. 
- Proven and demonstrable skill in C++, C#, JavaScript. Experience with GIT and Jenkins are an added plus. 
- Strong problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills, advanced design and development skills. 
- Experience working through the full product cycle from initial design to final product. 
- BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience. 

 

Other preferred qualifications include: 


- Experience in ASP.NET (http://asp.net/), web service technologies (REST, JSON), JavaScript (AngularJS, Ember, React). 
- Good understanding of Identity Systems (oAuth, OpenId, LDAP). ? Experience in Azure App Development. 
- Experience of working with Azure services (Azure Storage, Azure AD) will be nice to have.
