Oracle Portal Platform -IT Production Support Specialist Required Skills

5+ years of Oracle Portal 10.3 administration experience
3+ years of Oracle Webcenter 11g design and development experience
Experience with Web design, knowledge of HTTP and HTTPS
Strong understanding of High Availability concept and architecture.
Application Production support experience is highly desired
Strong organizational, documentation skills and desire for continuous process improvements.
Java and J2EE development experience and knowledge of OOAD.
Strong understanding of SDLC
Must have strong interpersonal, planning, facilitation, negotiating, and organizational skills.
Able to identify risk and issues and provide appropriate mitigation plans.
Oracle Portal Platform -IT Production Support Specialist Responsibilities

Provide second level technical support to ITC (IT Cluster) and users in resolution of technical issues related to the Oracle Portal technology and all its components such as Search and Index in multiple platforms: AIX, LINUX and Windows.
Administer the functional ability of the Portal environment to provide required services for internal business users and external clients
Regularly check predefined thresholds of various system components to ensure stable system performance after new deployments of new applications.
Put together new components of the corporate portal technology platform for staff, external partners and various stakeholders, understand business processes and working parameters in order to deliver business needs and content. In conjunction with ITC Architects, work on the model for the Portal layout of components and services
Participate in proactive capacity planning of the portal environment to ensure a stable environment that supports the continuous growth of the content user volume.
Coordinate Portal upgrades, integration with third-party applications and implementation of projects
Work on guidelines for setup, implementation and use of all components of Oracle Portal applications
Conduct one-on-one training and other users on the Portal features and functionality, as well as on functions and best practices of applications and systems that interact with Portal.
Regular system support to application users within and outside of ITC regarding upgrades to applications residing on the supported platform.
Explore opportunities to enhance and improve the reliability, availability and serviceability of the internet/external services of the Portal technical environment in order to provide the highest level of system performance.
 Work with the vendor on the supported configuration model and with the ITC technical team to review and analyze hardware capability and functionality, develop the architectural diagrams and implementation strategy.
Ability to work under pressure in a team for production support and respond effectively and efficiently to business users.
Resource should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle critical time bound issues and have the ability to work and respond within a defined SLA.
Perform other duties as assigned or required including 24/7 on-call pager support
