Process Engineering and Project Management

Actively engage with plant employees and other functional leadership to jointly develop effective and sustainable solutions;
Provide technical assistance to manufacturing operations as required to maximize HSE performance, first-time quality and productivity;
Deliver mechanical design of equipment, custom solutions, systems and components. Generate design/schematic drawings, specifications and process description documentation. 
Support vendor selection and related procurement activities;
Provide on-site engineering support during project commissioning phase;
Support breakdown maintenance of critical plant equipment to maximize uptime;
Actively support change management by communicating equipment and/or process changes and deploying the corresponding employee training and/or process documentation;
Execute special projects as assigned by Engineering Manager and/or Operations Manager

Health, Safety and Environment

Support HSE initiatives and programs including (but not limited to) incident investigation, risk assessment, advanced safety audit (ASAs), and the implementation of assigned corrective actions. 
Actively engage with plant employees to address safety concerns and jointly develop solutions;
Ensure 5S and housekeeping standards are maintained to support safe work;
Regulations and Administration

Ensure external regulatory compliance and internal company compliance are maintained during solution implementation and project execution; 
Maintain appropriate knowledge of Shawcor standards and policies, site standards and polices, as well as other Federal and Provincial regulations as appropriate

The skills and qualifications that will make you a fit for this role are:
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
You have 2-5 years of related experience as an Engineer or Engineering Specialist
Excellent mechanical design ability. Strong attention to detail;
Ability to conceptualize solutions and effectively communicate ideas both verbally and in writing;
Effective organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines;
Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.  Ability to organize and manage the work of others (site maintenance, contractors, etc.);
Strong computer literacy in AutoCAD, MS Project, Office 365 and Autodesk Inventor (or equivalent);
Considered an asset:

Professional Engineer (Ontario)

Industry experience involving adhesive mixing, extrusion, lamination, coating or machine direction orientation (MDO) processing;
Knowledge of World Class manufacturing techniques such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, JIT, Lean, TQM, KanBan, COQ, etc.
PLC (Allen Bradley)  programming and Labview programming capabilities
