Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Be a champion of effective security best practices and promote their acceptance, adoption and socialisation of security standards
  • Monitor and provide advice on security technologies such as firewalls, web and mail gateway filtering, AV, IDS/IPS, WAF, SIEM, FIM, IDAM, vulnerability scanning, security monitoring, threat intelligence and security analytics
  • Conduct security risk assessments of IT infrastructure, systems and applications, and make recommendations for improvement
  • Act as the trusted IT Security representative within project delivery teams, providing subject matter expertise throughout project delivery
  • Assist with the development and promotion of a meaningful Security Awareness Program
  • Oversee penetration testing of internal and external infrastructure, systems and applications, analyse the results and recommend effective remediation
  • Be an enabler, demonstrating leadership and help build a successful secure and compliant infrastructure
  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of IRAP compliance
  • Review logs daily to ensure that breaches or non-compliance is remediated quickly
  • Work with 3rd Party Security Firms to conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance
  • Comply with all WHS procedures ensuring that team members including volunteers and contractors abide by all relevant health and safety procedures
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours and report all accidents, incidents or near misses immediately.

    • network-based intrusion detection and prevention systems
    • procedures and resources for maintaining detection signatures
    • procedures and resources for the analysis of event logs and real-time alerts
    • procedures and resources for responding to detected cyber security incidents
  • Comprehensive experience of vulnerability scanning and penetration testing, and the associated tools
  • Appreciation of the need for governance in a heavily regulated environment.

 

Required Experience

 

  • A minimum of 3 years IT security experience
  • Experience in working within a highly regulated and audited environment
  • Experience in working high performance environment
  • Solid technical background with an ability to give instructions to a non-technical audience
  • Customer-service oriented with a problem-solving attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field
  • Requires three or more years of related experience in an environment supporting a large multi-site Desktop environment.
