The human resources manager oversees and manages the entire human resources division of the company with an emphasis on vital functions:


 Directing and overseeing a broad range of human resources activities including employee recruitment, training, retention, benefit plan design, compensation, job evaluation, promotions, transfers,  pay equity, performance evaluation programs, human resources information systems, attendance and disability management, conflict resolution, , employee relations, employee turnover; benefits and compensation administration, policies, procedures and regulatory compliance. 

 Interacting daily with senior management, Dealer Principal and department managers to provide on-going advice, consultation with respect to staffing, labor relations.

Human resources manager performs some or all of the following duties:


 Direct and plan recruitment activities; organize and coordinate internal and external training.

 Direct and evaluate the operations of personnel departments.

 Plan human resource requirements in conjunction with other departmental managers.

 Develop and implement labor relations policies and procedures.

 Administer employee development, language training and health and safety programs.

 Advise and assist other departmental managers on interpretation and administration of personnel policies and programs.

 Oversee the classification and rating of occupations.

 Organize and conduct employee information meetings on employment policy, benefits and compensation and participate actively on various joint committees

 Ensure compliance with legislation such as the Pay Equity Act.

 Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  

Requirements:


 Proven experience in multi-national and multi-cultural environment is a plus.

 Experience with global companies preferred.

 Bachelor degree required, business or Human Resources/personnel management major preferred.

 10+ year of progressive, 'hands on' human resources management experience.

 Very knowledgeable of Canadian labor laws and practices.

 Proven strong interpersonal and coaching skills with the ability to work proactively with all levels of management and employees

 Must possess excellent verbal and written command of the English language and be proficient in the use of computers, Internet communications and office software packages.

 Chinese language is an asset.
