Position Summary: 

Leads, directs, develops and administers the financial activities of the Asia Region including the local/country finance teams. As a key member of the Finance Team for the Region, provides advice, counsel and leadership on key business issues to the VP & Managing Director Asia and the leadership teams of the Asia markets. This includes strategy, business planning, forecasting, financial controls, business processes, information systems and distribution structures. Take ownership for the financial strategies, reporting and analysis for the region and oversees the whole range of accounting, tax, treasury, and financial issues related to various distribution models in Asia. 



1. Strategic Planning 

Serves as the key advisor to the VP & Managing Director – Asia and the leadership teams of the Asia markets by analyzing and interpreting business results & trends, and recommending strategic initiatives to drive growth in revenue, reduce costs, and grow profit.
Identifies opportunities for sales and profit improvement and leads development of long-term strategic plans.
Develops and drives the analysis to support the long-range planning process with regional leadership through the development of comprehensive financial models and a strategic roadmap of “how to achieve the goals”.
Participates in and formalizes short and long range planning in areas of possible growth, expansion and new profit opportunities.

2. Financial Analysis & Operation Effectiveness 

Establishes procedures and systems necessary for concise, accurate, periodic financial reports on a timely basis on Asia results and financial position.
Appraises the region’s financial position and issues periodic financial and operating reports.
Oversees the Asia business analytic functions in countries.
Develops and administers bonus plans for region and countries within the region and, where appropriate, sales plans.
Prepares financial analysis, capital budgeting requests and provides analytical support to country businesses.

3. Budget and Forecast 

Issues accurate financial forecasts on the current state of the business measured against the on-going business updates with BF executive leadership on a timely basis along with the appropriate qualitative / quantitative analysis and recommendations.
Oversees the budgeting and forecasting processes and interpretation and presentation of such information.

4. Internal Controls 

Ensures all appropriate financial controls and legal/regulatory requirements are properly followed and certify the region’s results quarterly for Sarbanes-Oxley purposes.
Works with Accounting, Credit and Transactions (ACT) to develop policies and procedures for the establishment and maintenance of proper internal controls surrounding financial results throughout the Asia markets, including compliance with corporate policies.
Works with IT and Business Intelligence teams to develop management reporting and analytical tools to control the business as well as improve efficiency in all areas of the commercial business.

5. Pricing Structures 

Oversees pricing and associated cost structures of brands throughout the region and takes charge of pricing structures where particular distribution model exists.

6. Supply Chain
Directs the coordination of Supply Chain functions with other functional areas (accounting, operations, financial analysis, etc.).

7. Team Management & Development 

Provides leadership and direction to regional and country Finance teams.
Acts as a role model of B-F values and culture.
Leads a diverse and inclusive culture where different perspectives are encouraged and individuals feel connected and valued.
Builds and develops bench strength to fuel Brown-Forman regionally and globally with ready talent.
Supports team development by providing opportunities and coaching to the team with on-going appreciative & constructive feedback.
Participates in talent initiatives to build talents for short & long term, i.e. Talent Review, Performance Growth Planning, etc.
Engages the team in company’s visions and directions and motivate them to make active contribution.

Must Requirements: 

Master in Business Administration with a concentration in finance and 10 years relevant experience; or a Bachelors’ degree and 15 years relevant experience
Proven leadership, strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
Outstanding oral and written communications skills with the ability to develop and integrate comprehensive marketing, sales and production plans as well as to discuss financial strategies and translate into actionable plans
Understanding of all financial activities and structures across the region
Strong consultative and diagnostic skills
Excellent quantitative/mathematical skills with strong ability to interpret financial results and analysis
Demonstrated ability to manage and complete diverse activities within an established time frame
Strong interpersonal skills; able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of internal and external contacts and with diverse cultures
High level of integrity and trust
Excellent manager and talent developer in a diverse culture - demonstrated commitment to providing regular, constructive feedback to teams; demonstrated coaching ability; ability to objectively assess both skills and potential of talents

Preferred Requirements: 

Prior Experience in the alcoholic beverage industry or a branded consumer products company/business
Reputable financial/accounting designations such as Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Prior experience establishing internal control structures and processes
Prior experience in growing businesses in emerging markets
Education/experience in international business
