The Director of Customer Analytics is responsible for partnering with the LOB leadership, sales management and marketing to develop data-driven insights that drive marketing strategies and plans that support sales efforts and ensure a positive customer experience across all channels from ideation to execution.  The Director also serves as a central resource for strategic initiative support including acquisitions, integrations, divestitures, and for assessing the impact of these on the existing customer base. This position also provides thought leadership to the organization around world-class data enhancement and cutting edge technologies. 


Specifically, this role will: 

Lead the development of an analytic vision that supports company-wide sales strategies, product development, and other investment goals

Foster effective business relationships throughout the organization to enhance collaboration and partnership; manage and coordinate relationships within the Personal, Commercial and Wealth teams

Take a leadership role in strategy development, plan presentation and sell-in

Support strategic decision-making and initiatives

Manage the interaction between Marketing and Tech & Ops


Key Accountabilities: 

Business Delivery and Operational Effectiveness: Strategy Consultant (30%):

Establish Analytics as a COE for customer insight, strategic analysis and key customer data. Provide management and business teams with the tools and quantitative knowledge to transform the business.  Offer thought provoking analytics and consultative recommendations to help meet organizational goals.

Champion strong customer focus in the organization by working as a partner with the LOBs in the development and execution of strategies.

Lead cross-functional teams to provide end-to-end solutions to business problems and opportunities for LOBs.  

Oversee data governance across all platforms from core systems to frontline databases.

Change and Innovation (25%)

Be an analytics, data and information SME to drive enhanced understanding of processes and inputs into analyses, reports, predictive models, and the campaign execution process.

Lead improvements and enhancements to customer data and technical processes that will give us a deeper understanding of our customers and drive better customer experience. Integrate new sources of external data and expand functionality of current data.

Adopt improvements and enhancements in analysis and modeling techniques that will lead to better targeting and understanding using best practices from academic and across different industries.

Ensure marketing campaign approaches, tools, processes, and technology effectively enable BMO to achieve goals.

Managerial Leadership, Coaching and Team Development (25%)

Align projects and analyses with LOB, department, and organizational goals through effective planning and resource allocation.

Equip and inspire an exceptional team of analysts that provide superior results.  Provide opportunities for career development and movement within the organization.

Motivate team and create excitement around business goals to increase employee engagement and build a high performance work environment.

Business Partner and Relationship Management (20%)

Correlate leaders ideas to increase effectiveness and success of strategic initiatives by focusing on building strong working relationships with LOBs.

Establish and develop key relationships in the organization in order to create opportunities to promote Analytics, working to keep Analytics at the forefront of projects so that strategies are made based on insight and deep understanding our customers and situations.



Knowledge & Skills:  

Minimum of 1 5 + years of experience in marketing analytics and statistics required.

Minimum of 6+ years in financial services 
Master's degree level or higher degree in Quantitative Degree (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering , ) ; MBA preferred.



Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills (Expert Proficiency)

Ability to develop creative and innovative solutions to problems (Expert Proficiency) 
Ability to translate business problems into analytic solutions that drive and support business strategies and tactics
