As a Credit Risk Analyst within the team, your role is to provide the National Manager Credit Risk and the Chief Credit Officer with analytical support in the oversight of 1st line assurance functions. In addition, you will engage with the Divisional Chief Risk Officers to provide analytical support, insight and reporting for Credit Risk related activities.

Assist in the testing (through statistical methods) and reporting of the effectiveness of the credit risk and control environment through the provision of risk insight, risk appetite and risk oversight. This includes oversight on asset quality, lending process standards and credit policy compliance.
Design and implementation of the oversight assignments across the credit risk inventory to ensure that BNZ is adequately and appropriately managing its credit risks in line with Group credit risk frameworks.
Establish, scope, design and communicate the assurance objectives, to be able to assess the overall effectiveness of the Risk Management Framework undertaken by the 1st Line.
Effective dashboard and KPI consistent with Kaizen Business Excellence which deliver the right information to the right uses, at the right time to optimise decisions, enhance efficiency and accelerate performance through;
translating enterprise credit strategy into objectives, metrics, initiatives and tasks.;
monitoring critical credit risk processes and activities using metrics that indicate when potential problems arise;
analysing the root cause of problems by exploring relevant and timely information from multiple perspectives and at various levels of detail;
managing people and processes to improve decisions and optimise performance.
What we need from you...

You'll have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a consultative approach and the ability to engage with a wide range of people.
Knowledge of the BNZ Credit Policy and Product Business Rules will be beneficial.
Front line banking experience with an understanding of the risk assessment and related processes is desirable.
Good time management skills and understanding of project methodologies, kaizen business excellence and related tools.
General accounting, finance and business skills. Conversant with key Statistical sampling methodologies and techniques.
Tertiary qualification in business, finance or technology related discipline is desirable.
