Key tasks and responsibilities include; 

  • Monitoring of progress and productivity by development and maintenance program.
  • The coordination and planning of works to schedule, including setting out.
  • Direct, coordinate and control the sequence of construction activities to ensure that the required construction schedule is achieved.
  • Coordination of various disciplines and trades involved in construction activities at the site.
  • Coordination and expediting of materials, equipment and services supplied by UGL for construction activities.
  • The direct supervision of site employees.
  • Coordination with and daily management of subcontractors and suppliers (including associated schedule, cost, quality, work methods and practices, safety and environmental matters).
  • Attend meetings with Subcontractors, report on subcontractors progress.
  • Attend supervisors meetings and have an input to the general running of the Construction Site.
  • Keep a daily site diary, detailing an account of the days activities and communications.
  • Monthly reporting of project progress (including labour and material costs to complete for works under their supervision).
  • Procurement of minor materials and Subcontractors, including the writing of work scopes and work procedures in conjunction with site engineers.

Qualifications, skills and experience required; 

  • Tertiary trade qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar construction supervisory role is essential.
  • Extensive experience in supervising bulk earthworks and concrete/retaining structures
  • Understanding of a construction schedule and experience in planning the labour, plant and equipment resources and materials deliveries to meet construction schedule requirements
  • Previous experience on civil, water, infrastructyre projects is essential
  • Understanding of and ability to implement safe work systems including facilitating pre-start and toolbox meetings, communicate and ensure that the requirements of SWMS are applied
  • Ability to implement a quality system and environmental controls
  • Cert IV in OH&S is preferred
  • You must hold a current driver’s licence
