Expectations and Challenges of the Role:
Leading teams to ensure all work is conducted safely and that all safety, health and environmental requirement are met
Promoting the use and application of required safe work practices to ensure a safe work environment. This will include a high level of collaboration with site safety, health and environmental and leadership
Development of construction execution plans and schedules as deliverables to project activity
Leading the process to acquire resources for project scope execution, including contract bidding and tender processes
Responsible for coordinating and management of field resources (people, equipment and materials) to achieve project milestones and schedule
Timely and open communication of project status to all Site and Project stakeholders
Effective auditing skills to ensure expectations for safety, environmental, quality, productivity and housekeeping are being met
Cost and productivity control of the construction activities and the ability to use key tools to support this
Final turnover of the project for commercial operation
Work Experience & Skills Required:
Minimum of three years of construction management experience including contract administration and management of field construction in a manufacturing environment
Experience managing capital projects with a proven track record of successful execution and completion of projects
Scheduling & estimating knowledge
Strong knowledge of construction and industry standards, processes and procedures
Experience working with vendors and contract labour suppliers
Proven project management skills and the ability to oversee the work of others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong economic, thinking and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated computer skills
What Will Put You Ahead?

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related discipline
Strong knowledge of mechanical disciplines/trades (piping & millwrights)
Experience with electrical & instrumentation equipment and procedures
Formal education related to construction management
