The NZSIS is excited to invite applications from experienced, talented and professional training staff to advance our intelligence officers’ expertise in using our intelligence analysis system. Joining a high performing and diverse team, you will design and deliver a range of formal and informal training to investigators and operational staff, to ensure they are able to understand and fully utilise the intelligence data and advanced system they use.


The datasets we hold and the analysis challenges we face when looking at the threats to New Zealand from terrorism or espionage are unique.  You will be directly involved in improving the ways that our staff and systems address these challenges.  This will require you to work with intelligence teams to refine end-to-end business processes and ensure these are captured in the training you provide and written procedures.  You will also identify and prioritise requirements for system enhancements, and work with our software development team to coordinate their delivery.


With no workday being the same, working within a business with varying roles and responsibilities, enthusiasm and an ability to relate to a variety of people will be necessary as you champion our analysis system and facilitate business change.  In addition, some of the following would be advantageous:


Experience in providing analytical training.
A strong understanding of data analysis tools and how they can support investigative or operational work.
A desire and ability to work with new technologies.
Experience of business analysis and a passion for building capabilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, for both non-technical and technical audiences.
